The Residence
Overlooking the heart of Central Park, this private residence combines classic proportions with refined materials and impeccable details.
Every space is designed to create a sense of harmony, comfort, and timeless elegance.
The brief was calm: a family residence above Central Park where classic proportions could hold a modern life. The plan opens the principal rooms to the park, so the seasons become part of the interior palette.
Millwork sets the tone throughout. Paneled walls, framed openings, and herringbone floors carry one language from the entry hall to the private rooms, while marble, brass, and walnut add weight where the hand actually touches the home.
The kitchen and dining rooms are composed for both daily life and formal evenings, with the piano lounge as the hinge between them. Bedrooms trade drama for quiet: layered textiles, softened light, and dressing rooms planned like fine cabinetry.
Baths are treated as rooms in their own right. Twin vanities in deep lacquer face across book matched stone, and a window seat rests beneath the park view, because the best seat in the home should not be reserved for the living room.
